Immagine-4-_-STRD2019Building on the concept and results of the STRD2017 (available at www.strd2017.org), the edition 2019 again connects and combines tourism, agriculture and rural development. In preparation of the upcoming new Planning Period 2021-2027 and the implementation of the new CAP – Common Agriculture Policy of the European Union, focus is on the following:

  • Increasing the value chain that tourism and recreation can generate for rural areas – commerce and agricultural production
  • Using opportunities of digitalization – Smart Villages, distribution, communication, CRM
  • The attraction of landscape and mountains – a perfect symbiosis to support fragile territories through tourism
  • Demographic changes – how to attend the ageing population and other groups with special need (accessibility and social tourism)
  • Preparing the ground for adequate consideration and support of the above topics in the upcoming Rural Development regulation within the CAP of the EC is important. On that purpose, we include the European Farmers (COPA), the European Movement for Rurality (MER), the European Commission, and other public and private stakeholders in the preparation and organization of this congress.
